Cosmic Roc Guide

Cosmic Roc

ATK 560 · Power 840 000

Two stacks of Astral Tide kill outright, Judgement of the Stars divides on dry land but not in a Starpool, and every explosion in the water poisons it for a minute.

Before you pull

Cosmic Roc is immune to every debuff and impairment except Taunt.

Control heroes do nothing here.

What you must not do

  • Marked Legions split from each other. Two stacks of Astral Tide is instant death
  • Stack on dry land for Judgement. 200% divides; the pool's 50% does not
  • Never let anything explode in a Starpool. One minute of 2% per second, and you lose the ground
  • Keep someone in melee range when the Roc flies to a pool, or the whole Lair eats Cosmic Cruise
  • Kill Night Rocs on dry land
  • Re-read the terrain at 50%

Gaze From Beyond: the mechanic that kills people

Energy Vortex lands on 4 random Legions. Moments later each one explodes: 5% of maximum Unit Count to everything in range, and 1 stack of Astral Tide on whoever it caught.

Two stacks of Astral Tide kills the Legion instantly.

The 5% is nothing. The stack is everything. A marked Legion standing next to another marked Legion takes both explosions and dies on the spot, at full health, with no damage bar to warn them.

Marked Legions run from the group and from each other. That is two separate instructions and the second one is the one raids forget. Four vortexes, four different directions.

And a vortex that explodes inside a Starpool triggers Ripples of Chaos, so marked Legions get out of the water too.

Gaze From Beyond

Gaze From Beyond

Cosmic Roc casts Energy Vortex on 4 random Legions. Moments later, the Energy Vortex explodes, dealing Magic Skill damage to all Legions within range (5% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count) and briefly inflicting 1 stack of Astral Tide. If Astral Tide reaches 2 stacks, the Legion is killed instantly. If an Energy Vortex explodes inside a Starpool, it triggers Ripples of Chaos.

Ripples of Chaos

Ripples of Chaos

If an Energy Vortex or a Night Roc explodes within a Starpool, the Starpool deals Magic Skill damage every second (2% of maximum Unit Count) to all Legions within it for 60s.

2

Judgement of the Stars

The Roc charges, then fires an orb at the ground. It hits both terrains at once, with completely different maths:

Where you areDamage
Dry land200% of maximum Unit Count, divided by the number of Legions affected
In a Starpool50% of maximum Unit Count, not divided

Get on dry land and stack up. With the raid together, 200% split forty ways is a scratch. Alone it is death, and hiding in a Starpool is a flat 50% no matter how many of you there are.

Then read the aftermath: the orb creates a Night Roc where it lands, and another Night Roc at the position of every Legion it killed. A sloppy Judgement does not just cost Legions, it seeds the floor with adds.

Judgement of the Stars

Judgement of the Stars

After a short charge-up, Cosmic Roc fires an energy orb at the ground. When the orb lands, it deals heavy Magic Skill damage to all Legions on dry land (200% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count, divided by the number of Legions affected). Meanwhile, it deals Magic Skill damage to Legions within Starpools (50% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count, not divided). The energy ball creates a Night Roc when it lands, and also creates Night Rocs at the locations of any Legions killed by the energy orb.

3

Sundered Firmament: the terrain swap

This one fires in two steps:

  1. Damages every Legion on dry land for 20% of maximum Unit Count, then the Roc teleports to dry land
  2. After a short charge-up, damages every Legion in a Starpool for 20%, then it flies to a random Starpool

So you swap. Take the half you can afford, then move to the other terrain before the second half lands.

Sundered Firmament

Sundered Firmament

Cosmic Roc deals Magic Skill damage to all Legions on dry land (20% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count), then immediately teleports to dry land. After a short charge-up, it deals Magic Skill damage to all Legions in Starpools (20% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count), and flies toward a random Starpool.

4

Abyssal Summoner and the Night Rocs

On a timer, the Roc summons a Night Roc where it stands, then flies toward a random Starpool.

If no Legion is in melee range when it arrives, it casts Cosmic Cruise: 15% of maximum Unit Count to the entire Lair. Assign someone to meet it. Do not hope.

Night Rocs are ordinary adds until they die:

  • Night's Echo: a Night Roc explodes 8 seconds after dying, 10% of maximum Unit Count to everything around it
  • If it explodes inside a Starpool, it triggers Ripples of Chaos

Ripples of Chaos turns that Starpool into 2% of maximum Unit Count per second, for 60 seconds.

Pull Night Rocs onto dry land before killing them. A poisoned pool removes a quarter of your safe terrain for a full minute, and Sundered Firmament will come looking for you during it.

Abyssal Summoner

Abyssal Summoner

At regular intervals, Cosmic Roc summons a Night Roc at its location, then flies toward a random Starpool. If no Legions are within melee range when it arrives at its destination, Cosmic Roc casts Cosmic Cruise.

Cosmic Cruise

Cosmic Cruise

Cosmic Roc takes to the skies, dealing heavy Magic Skill damage to all Legions within its Lair (15% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count).

Night's Echo

Night's Echo

Night Roc explodes 8s after dying, dealing Magic Skill damage to all surrounding Legions (10% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count). If it explodes inside a Starpool, it triggers Ripples of Chaos.

5

Fallen Star: the 50% mark

At 50% HP the Roc enters its next phase, changes the terrain of the Lair, and generates Healing Manastone in all 4 Starpools.

  • Gather it. This is the fight's only heal
  • The ground moved. Re-read it before the next Sundered Firmament, because the safe spots you memorised are gone
Fallen Star

Fallen Star

When Cosmic Roc is reduced to 50% HP, it enters the next phase, changes the terrain of its Lair, and generates Healing Manastone in all 4 Starpools. Gather Healing Manastone to heal a Legion's lightly wounded units.
