Every Daemon draws a circular Scourging Field around itself. All four work identically:
Two rules make it a trap rather than a simple hazard:
Stand outside the field and your damage to that Daemon is significantly reduced. You cannot fight it from safety.
If the field is completely empty, Scourging Strike extends to the entire Lair. You cannot all step out either. Someone is always in there.
Each Daemon tracks its own Mark. The Devourer's Mark, the Devastator's Mark, the Manipulator's Mark and the Reaper's Mark are four separate counters.
So moving to a different Daemon puts you back at zero, while the stacks you left behind tick down through their 90 seconds.
Rotate clockwise at 3 stacks. Three stacks is roughly 54 seconds in a field, which leaves you a full strike of margin before the lethal fifth, and a lap of four Daemons is far longer than the 90 seconds a stack survives. By the time you come back around, you are clean.
Keep the tanks inside the ring. When a Daemon's target is too far away it switches to ranged attacks: Blazing Wave, Blazing Barrage, Fireball Blast, Wave of Fire, all of them landing on the raid instead of the tank.
Devourer's Mark
DevourerThe Magma Devourer creates a circular Scourging Field around itself, launching a Scourging Strike every 18s at Legions within the field. Scourging Strike applies a stack of Devourer's Mark to the target, lasting 90s and dealing Magic Skill damage (1% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count). The more stacks of Devourer's Mark there are, the more damage is dealt. When Devourer's Mark reaches 5 stacks, the Magma Devourer's next Scourging Strike instantly kills the Legion. When Legions are located outside the field, damage dealt to the Magma Devourer is significantly reduced. If there are no Legions in the Scourging Field, the effective range of Scourging Strike is extended to the entire Lair.
Blazing Wave
DevourerWhen its target Legion is too far away, the Magma Devourer switches to ranged attacks, launching a wave of lava at the target, dealing Magic Skill damage (1% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count) to all Legions caught in its wake, and to all Legions at its endpoint (2% of the Legion's maximum Unit Count).
Every Daemon you kill makes the survivors stronger. Each death grants the remaining Daemons a stack of Magma Covenant: more ATK and more DEF, permanently.
So the last Daemon standing is fighting a raid it has three stacks on. Bring them down close to together rather than clearing one, then the next. A raid that kills sequentially finishes against the hardest version of the hardest target with the least time left.
Magma Covenant
When a Magma Daemon is defeated, all remaining Magma Daemons gain one stack of Magma Covenant, increasing their ATK and DEF.
Magma Devourer (Magic): Sacrificial Ritual summons 3 Acolytes that walk into it and sacrifice themselves, healing it 2.5% each. Kill them on the way in. This is the only heal in the fight and it is entirely preventable.
Magma Manipulator (Magic): Firebearer marks 2 Legions. When the countdown ends, a lava pool opens underneath them, 5% of maximum Unit Count per second to anyone standing in it. Marked Legions walk it away from the group and away from the rotation lanes.
Magma Reaper (Physical): Reap Immobilizes one Legion and knocks everyone around it Airborne. After a short charge-up it throws its scythe at the pinned Legion for 80% of maximum Unit Count to everything in the landing radius. The pinned Legion cannot move, so everyone else must not come back.
Magma Devastator (Physical): Magma Spray, a charged forward arc for 15% of maximum Unit Count. Read the wind-up and get out of the cone.
All four also carry the same shape of melee kit: a forward arc at Damage Factor 1,500, a heavier forward arc at 2,000, and a surrounding hit at 1,200.
Sacrificial Ritual
DevourerThe Magma Devourer summons 3 Acolytes, which move toward it and eventually sacrifice themselves to its flames, healing it by 2.5%.
Produced every time a Magma Daemon loses 20% of its HP. Collect it right after a rotation, when your tanks are the ones who need it.
Healing Manastone
Every time a Magma Daemon loses 20% of its HP, its Lair produces Healing Manastone, which can be gathered to heal lightly wounded units.
