As a frustrated young man, Bahorn was ostracized by his clan for his unusual ideas, which led him to give up on his dreams and accept a solitary posting patrolling the desert. There, he adopted a new name—"The Mirage Patroller"—as if to lament his own "nonexistence".
The mysterious mineshaft would change Bahorn's entire life. Laying undisturbed for a thousand years, it seemed to have chosen Bahorn, welcoming him deep within and unveiling its secrets to him. Confronted with its "unrealizable" blueprints, Bahorn's strange ideas finally found their application.
The "firelance"—the flame-spurting weapon that would become the Ironeye Clan's proudest creation—had its genesis in Bahorn's studies deep within the mines. Though it underwent countless "improvements" following its adoption by the Dwarven armies, the stubborn Bahorn preferred to use the original design, which he called his "untameable treasure".
After becoming the Ironeye Clan's Chief Machinist, Bahorn became known by another name: "The Flying Dwarf". Only he would be mad enough to launch Dwarven soldiers into the skies with his rocket pack, an invention which first saw use during the War of the Last Snows. Bahorn has always bragged that his work was crucial to the Dwarven victory—though some believe him to be a madman whose success was little more than dumb luck.
