Forondil was born in Stormpeak, to parents who were esteemed druids. A lively and mischievous child, he always loved to play tricks on others—until the fateful day when his parents were branded "traitors" and disappeared soon after, upending his entire life. Sensing the child's potential, Indis, the Sage of Order, took him as her apprentice.
No matter where Forondil went, the burden of his parents' treason followed. Shunned by his peers and lacking in self-esteem, he found himself enrolled into the Trial of the Four Sages without his knowledge—as he saw it, little more than a cruel trick of fate. If he failed, he would be a laughingstock, destined for lifelong exile. But with Indis's encouragement, he underwent the Trial and succeeded, becoming a druid.
As the Orcs attacked the Elves and Humans in the Wilderburg War, Forondil inadvertently discovered the schemes of the Riven Rebels. At that moment, an unknown force overtook him, and he transformed into a Forest Eagle, destroying their plans in one fell swoop. But the awakening of his powers would set him upon a path from which he could not return: summoned by the Archdruid, he learned of a prophecy in which he would play a central role.
The burden of prophecy—shifting endlessly between fear and pride—almost overwhelmed Forondil. Concerned for his wellbeing, Indis suggested that he leave Tamaris and join an expedition to Belleron. In a new land, away from the judging eyes of his own people, Forondil could throw himself into perfecting his talents, becoming a fearless leader on the battlefield.
