Even among the fierce warriors of the Bloodblade Clan, Goresh is spoken of as a waking nightmare, raised on violence since birth. Born out of his clan's ruthless system—which culls all but those children who show potential as warriors—he developed a lifelong obsession with proving his supremacy and dominating anyone who stood in his way. This fixation soon darkened into a morbid passion. At 13, Goresh challenged his instructor to single combat. The instructor broke his tooth with a single blow, but the pain did not slow Goresh's unstoppable advance. As he inflicted cruel and devastating agonies upon his opponent, a cruel smile lit up Goresh's face for the first time. Victory was his.
As the Orcs set about conquering Tamaris, Goresh became known as a harbinger of cruelty and bloodlust. He rose to prominence in the Wilderburg army as the "Soul of the Bloodblades," but that wasn't enough. Goresh craved dominance over all, and wanted everyone to bow in awe and fear before him. His sole target: Kurrata, Chieftain of Wilderburg. Goresh didn't care about becoming Chieftain, nor was he concerned about whether Wilderburg prospered or declined. He just wanted to etch his name in history as the strongest warrior in Tamaris.
Goresh saw the Battle of the Hexwood as his ultimate trial before challenging Kurrata. The battlefield learned to fear his mere name, and to panic as it heard the footsteps of his manic followers surging forward without mercy or fear, primed for atrocious torture. Yet the Orcish forces suddenly retreated, and news of Kurrata's death by an Elven arrow soon reached Goresh. Consumed by rage, he stood alone against the pursuing Elves. Amidst the final carnage and ashes stood only Goresh, holding the Bloodblade banner high over the ruins. Survivors from all clans, inspired by his heroism, began to emulate him.
After the Night of Burning Stars, Goresh became a warlord who instilled fear in the hearts of Darklings. However, he believed that the years of peace in Tamaris had only made everyone weaker. To him, the continent was no longer worth saving—for who would want to rule over a land of cowards? So he journeyed to Belleron, where his reputation preceded him, and where he could defy the rules he detested. There, a newly formed community named the "Bloodblade Brotherhood" praised his methods, convincing him that he could ultimately lead his clan to dominance.
