Gromara was born during a brutal siege in the days before the establishment of Wilderburg. She breathed her first breath beneath the howl of war drums and the shadow of flames. The Witchtongue Clan, masters of ancient shamanic rites, were under attack from a rival Orcish clan when the fragile baby arrived. To save the newborn's life, the clan shamans performed a forbidden ritual, bathing her in enemy blood and binding her soul to a dangerous primal magic. From that day, Gromara was marked. As a child, the earth whispered secrets to her, and blood carried voices that only she could hear.
At nine, Gromara was taken, kidnapped by enemies who sought to wipe out all Witchtongue heirs. Enslaved among other Orcish children, Gromara suffered beatings, hunger, and silence. But suffering is where blood magic thrives. Deep in a dark cell, surrounded by death, her power ignited and her wounds closed. Voices screamed inside her skull. One night, a rescue party led by the clan shaman Zarthus stormed the fortress. They found Gromara surrounded by the broken bodies of her captors, eyes glowing like coals. Zarthus knew then that Gromara was more than a witch. She was a weapon.
Under Zarthus's guidance, Gromara learned to control blood magic—and its price. Each spell drained something sacred. Her strength grew, but her soul frayed. When her old mentor Zarthus passed into dust, he left her the Bloodstone—a crimson crystal pulsing with stolen years and inlaid it into her chest. The crystal amplified her magic and hid her age beneath a youthful appearance. But even as she rose as a shaman, whispers began to grow around her: she never aged, she never slept, and her gaze saw too much.
When the Darklings came, it was Gromara who foresaw them in a blood-vision. While others panicked, she stood firm, guiding the Witchtongue Clan into battle with terrifying precision. Her spells turned the tide, but at a great cost. With each sacrifice, she felt less tethered to the world she fought to protect. Now, Gromara walks a knife's edge—ancient, revered, and feared. She seeks the prophesied hero, the one who might save her clan... and her soul. Until then, she chants in blood, leads through terror, and carries the burden of a terrible magic that is keeping her alive, and slowly consuming her.
