Kinnara

When Kinnara was eight years old, she and her parents were caught in an ambush while playing their pan flutes in the forest. Such enchanting music had long been considered a dark and sinful symbol of the Satyrs' curse. Kinnara and her parents found themselves surrounded by a group of angry Orcs intent on killing them. As the three fled, they ran into an old Orc named Loghren. Unwilling to leave them to their fate, Loghren protected them from danger, and allowed them to join his band of hunters.

Loghren fashioned a weapon for the young Kinnara, and later, after she miraculously killed a giant snake, he would fasten its rattle to the haft. He also whittled a small wooden whistle for her, which she would use as a child to alert her parents and Loghren when she encountered danger—or simply came across something interesting.

After her parents' death, the heartbroken and vengeful Kinnara turned from warrior to monster. She turned her fury toward the Darklings, savoring every ruthless and frenzied kill as she tore them apart. The mere sound of her rattling spear was enough to strike fear into the inhabitants of the villages she terrorized and pillaged. She wanted them to fear her more than they did any other; to exact revenge for how they had treated her and her parents in her childhood.

At first, Kinnara thought little of Pan's quest to purify the Satyrs' bloodline, considering a pointless sacrifice. Pan tried her best to ease the restlessness and resentment that gripped Kinnara's heart and set her on the right path. This only left Kinnara feeling all the more conflicted. But at the same time, she could at last draw strength from having "family" by her side.
