Across the Bonebreaker Wastes, stories tell of "The Shepherd", the one who has proclaimed the Satyrs his sworn enemy. Corrupted by dark forces, his skin ashen and his gaze ice-cold, he wields throwing axes with deadly precision, cutting down his enemies in an instant. He longs to cut through the haze Lander left behind, to bring an end to his memories of the dark. Beneath his cold exterior, he fights against the nightmares that threaten to consume him.
But many years ago, Kolk was a paragon of the Bloodblade Clan, lauded for his loyalty and courage as a patrol captain, tasked with ensuring the safety of his clansmen. When frequent natural disasters threatened the clan's existence, he formed an expeditionary force to travel south in search of a new home. Kolk led his forces on along and arduous journey through bitter cold before finally arriving at Mount Tempest.
But at the peak of Mount Tempest, Kolk witnessed an incredible scene—the Satyr Foremother Uma breaking the seal placed by the God of Light to unleash dark forces upon the world. The Satyr lost her mind, and the expeditionary force fought a chaotic battle. Kolk's will to survive impressed Lander, who attempted to corrupt the Orc to his own ends—only to be foiled by the strength and fury of Kolk's bloodline. Finally, Kolk succumbed to wounds inflicted by the darkness, falling into a long and restless slumber.
A thousand years of sleep could not temper Kolk's rage. When the Night of Burning Stars arrived and dark forces reemerged, Kolk awoke with them. His prosperous homeland was no more, and mist covered the world once again. Searching his memories, he recalled what the Satyr had unleashed upon the world, and concluded it to be the source of this disaster. Thus, he headed north, wandering the wilderness alone, the flames of vengeance guiding his axes as he slaughtered Darklings in his wake. Kolk has sworn to uncover the truth, to find justice for his fallen comrades—and to deliver it by his own hand.
