Story

  1. Chapter 1 Trust Level 2

From the moment she was born, it seemed that Madeline's path in life had been set in stone: As the eldest daughter of Cyrus, she would be the future Queen of Jargand. To the Kingdom, bloodline is of the utmost importance. Not due to rules of inheritance, but due to the fact that only those with royal blood are able to receive the Holy Light from Whitewing Peak, and wield the Heavenly Blade.

  2. Chapter 2 Trust Level 4

During the Sun Fair, when Madeline was 18 years old, the Church of Light held the Lightbearer Ceremony. Madeline touched a Celestial feather, but unlike her father Cyrus, her eyes remained ordinary, instead of turning gold. Madeline's legitimacy as heir was not recognized by the Holy Light.

  3. Chapter 3 Trust Level 6

With her birthright denied by the Holy Light itself, Madeline had no reason to stay in Dawngrad. Half a year after the Lightbearer Ceremony, Madeline—together with her uncle Sedgeley Sorland, the Guardian of the North—headed to the northern frontier where the Iron Hills lay, and became a warrior on the frontline. Surrounded by harsh and unforgiving nature, Madeline found the frontier to be an entirely different place to Dawngrad. Here, people of different races and status fought side by side, for the sake of everything they held dear many miles away. Every day, their sole objective was to stay alive.

  4. Chapter 4 Trust Level 8

After cutting her teeth on the battlefield for 8 years, Madeline had transformed into a fearsome warrior. On the Night of Burning Stars, her troops were left stranded and suffered heavy losses. Madeline used Sedgeley's sword to repel the Darkling assault and save the severely wounded Sedgeley. That night became a legend that was often told in taverns. "It's said that on that night, her pupils turned golden, and the battlefield was bathed in the Holy Light."
