Mogro

On the day that divine wrath fell from the sky, enveloping everything in flame, the young Mogro was lucky to survive. But his injuries forced him into a deep slumber, hidden beneath the scorched earth. Years passed, and the wasteland became the Witherheath, its denizens becoming the mighty Ironbark Treants. But Mogro slept, oblivious to all these developments, waiting for the day that he would emerge once again.

When greedy Humans trespassed upon the Witherheath in search of gold, the Forest Guardians assembled to repel them. In an unexpected turn of events, the power of the Lifestone seeped into the earth, awakening Mogro. The fragments of gold that once ran through the earth a thousand years ago now ran through his veins, giving him incredible strength. Enraged, he turned his fury upon all who would threaten the forest, becoming every intruder's worst nightmare.

The Battle of the Hexwood destroyed the peace Mogro once knew. Filled with fury, he rushed to the battlefield, routing every Orcish legion that dared get in his way—as well as injuring several innocents who found themselves caught in the path of his rampage. The joy of victory was not enough to assuage his guilt. He swore to better control his strength, protect the living, and fight against evil. And thus he became a guardian, deployed by the Springwardens to protect nature wherever it came under threat.

The Springwardens soon discovered that Mogro was not the same ill-tempered Ironbark Treant they once knew. Though once known as the vengeful "Fury of the Forest", he was now ready to use his unquenchable rage to protect the creatures of the forest, wiping out wickedness and greed wherever they reared their ugly heads.
