Whispers in the taverns and narrow alleys tell tales of a figure lurking in the shadows. A creature capable of blending perfectly with the darkness and attacking its prey when they least expect it. Indeed, Naernin's ability to transform into a black panther and stalk her enemies has been very useful in gathering secret information from even the most vigilant, and setting deadly ambushes for her unfortunate prey.
Naernin's stealthy presence and reserved demeanor have given rise to all sorts of rumors about her origins and the true motives behind her actions. Some say that she is a spirit sent by Arbon, God of the Forest, to punish those who have transgressed nature; others insist she has been cursed for meddling with dark magic. When a curious child dared to ask Naernin about her past, her only answer before vanishing was: "I come from a place that no longer exists."
Very few Elves know of Naernin's exact origins, as the Wildwoods village where she was born was destroyed long ago during a brutal Orcish raid, erasing any trace of her roots. Before the Orcish raiders could deliver the final blow, a massive black panther leapt from the trees and tore them apart, saving the young Elf from certain death. Naernin stared directly into the panther's eyes and saw an ancient wisdom that far surpassed her own: a grand druid. Having lost everything, Naernin followed the panther into the depths of the forest, where they would live in isolation for years to come.
After learning the secret of perfect camouflage, Naernin's talent for gathering military intelligence finally paid off during the Battle of the Hexwood, where she played a crucial role against the Wilderburg assault. Thanks to her efforts during the war, she was recognized as a druid and now dreams of one day becoming a grand druid. Naernin's lethality and efficiency at obtaining enemy intel have turned her into the Springwardens' secret weapon, and a force to be reckoned with.
