Tobin

As a second son of House Remus, Tobin's life was laid out for him before he was even born. At the age of 8, he was sent away to be raised by the Church, receiving the baptism of the Holy Light. The young Tobin never doubted his destiny. He was more pious than any other, never forgetting to carry out good deeds every day, even if they were only the tiniest of acts.

As he kept watch in an overnight vigil by his recently deceased mother's grave, Tobin saw a powerful warrior emerge from the mist and approach him. The warrior called himself Lightbearer, and told Tobin just as the sword in his hand had once chosen him, it had now chosen young Tobin. One day, it would lead him to carry out a thousand-year mission. The 13-year-old Tobin could not have understood this mission, nor the inheritance he had been granted. But this one dreamlike encounter would change his entire life.

Serving as the Lightbearer's squire and disciple, Tobin left the Church of Light and traveled to battlefields in places he had never set foot upon. Though on the front line of battle, Tobin rarely saw direct combat, and instead followed his master in helping to protect the common people. He swore to the old Paladin that he would dedicate himself to aiding the innocent, and refusing to get involved in conflict or derive profit from it. Following his master's teachings, Tobin forswore his own name. But as the Lightbearer's apprentice, he still received great praise from many who only knew him as "that kindly young man".

After 15 years of traveling with his master, Tobin was ready to take up his master's mantle. Another chapter in the history of the Lightbearer had ended, and the ancient name awaited its new owner. Tobin took from his master the sacred sword, Eos, and followed its guiding impulse over the ocean—to Belleron. In the ten years since his arrival, the legend of the Lightbearer has spread across Belleron. Man or woman, young or old, there are few who have not heard the legend of this nameless warrior for justice. And behind the legend stands Tobin, wielding Eos, committed to his mission to eradicate darkness once and for all.
